#1: Visionary Leader – This type of leader looks at the whole picture and tackles it, they can see through the uncertainty and challenges of the IT project.  They have a clear vision of how they will complete the IT project. They make their team feel like they have a real stake in the IT project. They think about things like what IT project management methodology to use.  They ensure the IT project is goal-oriented that is on time and on budget which equates to a successful project.

 

#2: Communication – According to Project Management Institute(PMI), communication is the lifeblood of the IT project and the IT project manager should spend 90 percent of the time doing so.  A good IT project manager actively listens then gives feedback, collaborates with the team and always keeps the stakeholders in the loop. They use this skill to also negotiate and/or sway stakeholders to ensure the success of the project.

 

#3: Motivation – Having the can do attitude goes a long way with and IT Project Management team. That type of positive attitude become the norm and create a culture within the team.  It increases productivity, efficiency and the quality of work.
